AB Against a backdrop of poor pension funding positions, increased contributions, and greater risk awareness, the Canadian pension risk settlement market has seen steady growth over the past few years. This growth has significantly lagged that seen in other markets, however. This article explores the reasons the Canadian market has not yet seen such rapid expansion and examines what has to occur to allow the market to reach its full potential.
