Abstract
This article examines the emergence of 130/30 funds among institutional investors. Using moderate amounts of leverage and short selling, 130/30 strategies are hybrids that borrow some characteristics from the hedge fund world and others from quantitative investing. The article explores the benefits of 130/30 funds and what is needed for successful implementation.
